The Texas A&M University Police Department is an accredited agency with The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Originally developed to improve law enforcement service delivery and enhance law enforcement as a profession, CALEA Accreditation provides agencies the opportunity to voluntarily demonstrate their commitment to excellence in law enforcement.
The purpose of CALEA’s Accreditation Programs are to improve the delivery of public safety services, primarily by: maintaining a body of standards, developed by public safety practitioners, covering a wide range of up-to-date public safety initiatives; establishing and administering an accreditation process; and recognizing professional excellence.
