How Do I Contact a Detective?

​By directing all requests for Criminal Investigations assistance to the Criminal Investigations Lieutenant. These requests include:

  • Contacting a Detective
  • Checking the status of a Criminal Trespass Warning
  • Requesting Dignitary protection
  • Requesting a plainclothes Detective​​

How Do I Report a Crime?

By calling 911 from a campus phone or your cell phone.

For other urgent concerns, call 979-845-2345. Assistance is available 24 hours a day.

To report non-urgent situations or concerns, call 979-845-2345 or use the email address below. All submissions will be reviewed; however, email is not monitored 24/7, and you may not receive an immediate response.
Please do not use this email to file complaints against the department or personnel. Such complaints should be submitted directly to Internal Affairs.

The police incident must have occurred on the Texas A&M Campus.

​Incidents in College Station should be reported to the College Station Police Department at (979) 764-3600.
To report online, email upd@tamu.edu (or click here, if available), and include the following information:
  • What happened (Burglary, Attack, etc.)
  • If you are a victim or witness
  • If you wish to remain anonymous
  • If you want to be contacted
  • Name
  • Email address, and if you want to keep the email address private
  • ​​Phone number
  • Address, city, state, zip
  • Date and time of incident
  • Location of the incident
  • Details​ of the incident
** State law provides that your email address is not subject to open records requests if you choose to keep it private. Selecting "Yes" for "I would like to keep my email address private" will result in your email address being redacted or deleted from any open records request.
Can I Hire TAMU Police Officers for an Event?

Yes, you may hire TAMU UPD for event security.

 

Texas A&M University Group

A Police Service Request Form should be submitted at least two weeks before your event to ensure sufficient planning time; requests made with less than two weeks’ notice are not guaranteed officer availability. Completed forms may be faxed to 979-845-6500 or emailed to Miranda Jones using the link below.

Student Organization

All student organizations must complete and submit the Approval to Charge form to the Student Organization Finance Center (SOFC) before requesting police service. Since police service requests must be made at least two weeks before the event, submit the Approval to Charge form at least three weeks in advance. After SOFC receives the form, submit the Police Service Request as detailed above by fax or email.

Non-Texas A&M University Group

The Texas A&M University Police Department does not accept police service requests directly from non-Texas A&M University System departments. If your company or organization requires police service on campus, please coordinate your request through a sponsoring Texas A&M University System department or student organization.

How Do I Apply for Crime Victims’ Compensation?

You may schedule an appointment with the Victim Advocate by calling 979-458-9767. The Advocate understands these situations can be difficult and is here to support you with the application process. Once your application is complete, the Advocate can fax it on your behalf to expedite the process.

Please know that this process may take a bit longer than working directly with the Advocate, but you are welcome to choose the option that feels best for you.

All lost and found items at Texas A&M University are managed through the MSC Hospitality Office. Occasionally, items may be submitted to the Police Department before being transferred to the MSC.
