Clery - Accreditation

Clery

The Clery Act Compliance / Accreditation unit is responsible for ensuring that the University Police Department’s role in Clery Act compliance is fulfilled, and that the CALEA law enforcement accreditation process for the department is managed properly.  For Clery Act compliance, this entails such activities as maintaining the Crime Log, evaluating reports of criminal activity for inclusion in Clery statistics, compiling statistics for Clery-reportable crimes, and contributing to the drafting of TAMU’s Annual Security Report.  For CALEA accreditation, duties include assisting with drafting CALEA-compliant policies, monitoring adherence to established policies, ensuring that required activities are completed in a timely manner, and collecting and maintaining proofs of compliance with CALEA standards.
