ABOUT CALEA ACCREDITATION

The Texas A&M University Police Department is an accredited agency recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®).  This accreditation was developed to enhance the quality of law enforcement services and elevate the profession. By achieving CALEA Accreditation, agencies can voluntarily demonstrate their commitment to excellence in law enforcement.

The goals of CALEA’s Accreditation Programs are to improve public safety service delivery by:

  • Maintaining a body of standards developed by public safety practitioners, covering a wide range of up-to-date public safety initiatives.
  • Establishing and administering an accreditation process.
  • Recognizing professional excellence.

 

CALEA ACCREDITATION PUBLIC PORTAL

The University Police Department (UPD) strives for excellence by complying with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) standards. This involves developing and updating policies and procedures, inspecting departmental activities, and monitoring required accreditation reports.

The Texas A&M University Police Department is proudly accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). As part of the accreditation process, CALEA has established a public portal to gather feedback regarding our:

  • Engagement with the community we serve
