Reporting a crime, safety concern, or suspicious activity is crucial to maintaining a secure campus environment. Whether you witness an incident or feel unsafe, it's important to take action and contact the appropriate authorities. This guide provides clear instructions for reporting both emergencies and non-emergencies effectively, ensuring your concerns are heard and addressed promptly.

For Non-Emergencies, Call UPD

Please dial 979-845-2345 if you encounter any non-emergency situation occurring or that has occurred on the Texas A&M University campus, available 24 hours a day. That may include:  

  • Non-urgent situations  
  • Non-urgent offenses  
  • Suspicious circumstances  
  • Safety hazards  
  • Traffic complaints  
  • Other police-related issues  

Please note that any police incidents occurring in the city of College Station should be reported to the College Station Police Department (979-764-3600). 

Reporting a Crime via Email

You can report crimes, safety concerns, or suspicious activity via email at upd@tamu.edu.

Email UPD

This email is not monitored 24 hours a day, so we may not review your submission immediately. However, we will assess every submission and take appropriate action. Such complaints must be submitted to Internal Affairs.

If you still prefer to report via email rather than in person, please be sure to include the following information:  

  • What happened (e.g., burglary, attack, etc.)  
  • Your status in relation to the incident (victim or witness)  
  • Whether you wish to remain anonymous  
  • If you would like to be contacted  
  • Your name  
  • Your email address and if you wish to keep the email address private* 
  • Your phone number  
  • Your address, city, state, and ZIP code  
  • Date and time of the incident  
  • Location of the incident  
  • Details of the incident  

*Under state law, your email address will not be subject to open records requests if you indicate that you wish to keep it private. Selecting "Yes" for "I would like to keep my email address private" will ensure that your email address is redacted and blacked out from any open records request.

Report a Clery Act Incident

For Texas A&M Employees 

If you are an employee of Texas A&M University, please visit the Texas A&M University Clery Website if you are a Texas A&M employee. Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) with a University Identification Number (UIN) should report incidents to the CSA database.

For Non-Texas A&M Employees

This reporting mechanism is intended only for individuals without a Texas A&M University-issued UIN. Please use the

Clery Reporting Form for Non-Texas A&M Employees to report incidents.
